About the Role:
As a Commercial Territory Sales Consultant, you will engage with independent agencies across your designated region, focusing on managing relationships, enhancing sales opportunities, and generating referrals.

Your responsibilities will include in-person meetings to persuade agencies to promote Progressive's suite of services and products, while also offering effective marketing strategies. You will actively seek out new agency partnerships within your territory.

Territory Coverage:
Your role will encompass Virginia, Metro DC, Maryland, Delaware, and adjacent areas. It is essential to be available for travel to meet with all agencies in this geographic region, which may involve overnight stays approximately 1-2 nights each week.

Home Office Location:
Ideal candidates will be based in Alexandria, Metro DC, Fairfax, or nearby communities.

Essential Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Business or a related field (such as Marketing or Business Management) along with three years of experience in outside business-to-business sales.
- Alternatively, five years of experience in outside business-to-business sales or five years in the property and casualty sector may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Compliance with Progressive's driving standards and policies is required, including a valid driver's license and auto insurance.

Preferred Skills:
- Proven experience in outside business-to-business sales.
- Ability to work autonomously, with prior experience in a field-based role.
- Proficiency in leveraging both formal and informal networks to achieve objectives.
- Competence in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Familiarity with customer relationship management tools (e.g., Salesforce).

Compensation:
The salary range for this position is $91,000 - $111,000 per year, with a Gainshare bonus opportunity of up to 30% of eligible earnings based on company performance.
