As a Commercial Territory Sales Consultant, you will engage with independent agencies within your designated area to support account management, enhance sales opportunities, and generate referrals. Your role will involve in-person meetings to persuade agencies to promote Progressive's services and products, while also offering tailored marketing strategies. Additionally, you will identify and pursue new agency prospects within your territory.

Territory Coverage: Virginia, Metro DC, Maryland, Delaware, and adjacent regions. Candidates must be prepared to travel extensively and meet with all agencies within this geographic scope, including overnight travel (approximately 1-2 nights per week).

Home Office Locations: Alexandria, Metro DC, Fairfax, and surrounding areas.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business or a related field (e.g., Marketing, Business Management) along with three years of experience in outside business-to-business sales.
  • Alternatively, five years of experience in outside business-to-business sales or five years in the property and casualty sector.
  • Compliance with Progressive's driving standards and policies.
  • Valid driver's license and auto insurance.

Preferred Skills:

  • Proven experience in outside business-to-business sales.
  • Ability to work autonomously, with prior experience in a field-based role.
  • Skilled in leveraging formal and informal networks to achieve objectives.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with customer relationship management tools (e.g., Salesforce).

Compensation:

$91,000 - $111,000 per year, with a Gainshare bonus of up to 30% of eligible earnings based on company performance.
