Compensation is set at $42.56 per hour.

Overview of Responsibilities:

The incumbent will utilize a variety of tools, testing devices, and equipment to install, inspect, repair, maintain, adjust, and troubleshoot diverse electrical systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Execute a range of electrical trade tasks, including the installation, upkeep, or repair of equipment related to the generation, distribution, or use of electrical energy.
  • Install or repair various electrical apparatus such as generators, transformers, switchboards, controllers, circuit breakers, motors, heating units, conduit systems, and other transmission devices.
  • Interpret blueprints, drawings, layouts, or other specifications to guide work.
  • Identify and diagnose issues within electrical systems or equipment.
  • Perform calculations related to load requirements for wiring or electrical apparatus.
  • Employ a variety of electrician's hand tools and measuring/testing instruments.
  • The role necessitates comprehensive training and experience typically gained through formal apprenticeship or equivalent training.
  • Diagnose and assess electrical systems.
  • Undertake additional related duties as required.
  • May engage in tasks across different classifications when incidental work is necessary for task completion. Significant work in another classification may be required if accompanied by applicable wage adjustments.
Accountability:
  • Proper utilization of tools and equipment commonly found in the Electrical Maintenance sector.
  • Completion of all mandated training as per governmental and managerial directives.
  • Efficient and cost-effective execution of responsibilities.
  • Timely and accurate completion of all departmental tasks.
  • Engagement with a diverse range of individuals in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Adherence to established safety protocols and sound industrial and office safety practices.
  • Compliance with company Standard Operating Procedures and Personnel policies.
  • Ability to perform well under pressure.

Qualifications:

Essential Requirements (Education, Experience, Professional Affiliations):
  • A minimum of four (4) years of experience in electrical maintenance.
  • Proficiency in reading blueprints, bending conduits, troubleshooting, repairing motors and controls, and installing and maintaining AC and DC equipment.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of switches, transformers, and transformer connections.
  • Capability to work on electrical equipment at various heights.
  • Must obtain and maintain necessary explosives certifications when assigned to ordnance operations.
  • Possession of hand tools required for the trade to perform standard work duties.
  • Aptitude for troubleshooting equipment.
  • Ability to meet and uphold company physical and security standards, including respirator qualifications and clearance eligibility when necessary.
  • Strong communication skills suited for a service-oriented team environment.
  • Valid state driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
  • Ability to successfully pass any required background checks and/or drug testing.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required.

Candidates must provide proof of immunity to tetanus, measles, rubella, and mumps, along with documentation of a TB test conducted within the past year prior to employment.

Compensation – $42.56 per hour.

Benefits package through IBEW may exceed $10/hour, which includes:

  • Paid vacation: Two weeks after one year, increasing to three weeks after five years and four weeks after ten years.
