Role Summary:
The Engineering Technician for Mechanical Systems is responsible for executing machine setups, troubleshooting, repairs, and preventive maintenance services. This role involves coordinating and maintaining the documentation system for preventive and corrective maintenance within the facility.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, schedule, execute, document, and audit maintenance activities related to marine mechanical equipment and systems, including HVAC, electrical generators, and marine diesel engines.
- Operate and maintain electric bridge cranes and hydraulic pedestal cranes, ensuring compliance with safety standards and proper rigging practices.
- Perform assigned tasks in various weather conditions, maintaining a clean and organized workspace, and lifting heavy items as necessary.
- Conduct custodial duties to uphold shop and facility cleanliness.
- Complete and maintain required medical examinations for operating forklifts and cranes.
- Work comfortably in marine environments, including on boats and piers.
- Maintain and repair primary and auxiliary mechanical systems on marine vessels, including generators and HVAC systems.
Qualifications:
- At least 15 years of commercial experience or 8 years of military experience with relevant training.
- A minimum of 10 years of experience under NAVFAC P-307 standards.
- 2+ years of experience with packing or production machinery.
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
Preferred Qualifications:
- OSHA Certifications.

Additional Requirements:
Security Clearance: Active Top-Secret Clearance required.
Work Environment:

Physical Requirements:
The role demands physical stamina, including standing, walking, bending, and lifting items over 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities are required for this position.
Work Schedule:
This is a full-time role with a standard work schedule of Monday through Friday, 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., with occasional overtime.
Travel Requirements:
Local travel is expected during business hours, with potential for some overnight travel.
