Overview of Responsibilities:

The incumbent will utilize various tools and testing devices to install, inspect, repair, maintain, adjust, and troubleshoot a range of electrical equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Execute a variety of electrical trade tasks, including the installation, maintenance, or repair of equipment related to the generation, distribution, or utilization of electrical energy.
  • Install or repair diverse electrical apparatus such as generators, transformers, switchboards, controllers, circuit breakers, motors, heating units, conduit systems, and other transmission devices.
  • Interpret blueprints, drawings, layouts, or other specifications.
  • Identify and diagnose issues within electrical systems or equipment.
  • Perform standard calculations related to load requirements for wiring or electrical devices.
  • Employ a range of electrician's hand tools and measuring/testing instruments.
  • Possess rounded training and experience typically gained through a formal apprenticeship or equivalent training.
  • Troubleshoot and assess electrical systems.
  • Carry out additional related duties as assigned.
  • May engage in work across different classifications when incidental tasks are necessary for the completion of the assignment.
Accountability:
  • Proper utilization of tools and equipment commonly used in the Electrical Maintenance sector.
  • Completion of all mandated training as per government and management directives.
  • Efficient and timely execution of responsibilities.
  • Accurate and timely completion of all departmental tasks.
  • Professional interaction with a diverse range of individuals in various situations.
  • Adherence to established safety protocols and good industrial practices.
  • Compliance with company Standard Operating Procedures and Personnel policies.
  • Ability to perform well under pressure.

Qualifications:

Essential Requirements (Education, Experience, Professional Associations):
  • A minimum of four (4) years of experience in electrical maintenance.
  • Proficiency in reading blueprints, bending conduits, troubleshooting, repairing motors and controls, and installing and repairing AC and DC equipment.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of switches, transformers, and transformer connections.
  • Capability to work on electrical equipment at various heights.
  • Must obtain and maintain necessary explosives certifications when involved in ordnance operations.
  • Possession of essential hand tools for the trade.
  • Ability to troubleshoot equipment effectively.
  • Meet and maintain company physical and security standards, including respirator qualifications and clearance eligibility when required.
  • Strong communication skills suitable for a service-oriented team environment.
  • Valid state driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
  • Ability to successfully pass background checks and/or drug testing as required.
  • U.S. Citizenship is mandatory.

Candidates must provide proof of immunity to tetanus, measles, rubella, and mumps through physician-signed documentation prior to employment, along with evidence of a TB test conducted within the past year.

Compensation is set at $42.56 per hour.
