Compensation is set at $42.56 per hour.
Overview of Responsibilities:The incumbent will utilize various tools, testing devices, and equipment to install, inspect, repair, maintain, adjust, and troubleshoot a range of electrical apparatus.
Key Responsibilities:- Execute a variety of electrical trade tasks, including the installation, upkeep, or repair of apparatus for the generation, distribution, or utilization of electrical energy.
- Install or repair diverse electrical equipment such as generators, transformers, switchboards, controllers, circuit breakers, motors, heating units, conduit systems, or other transmission apparatus.
- Interpret blueprints, drawings, layouts, or other specifications.
- Identify and diagnose issues within electrical systems or equipment.
- Perform standard calculations related to load requirements for wiring or electrical apparatus.
- Employ a variety of electrician's hand tools and measuring and testing devices.
- The role of the maintenance electrician necessitates comprehensive training and experience typically gained through a formal apprenticeship or equivalent training.
- Troubleshoot and assess electrical systems.
- Carry out additional related tasks as assigned.
- May engage in work across other classifications when incidental tasks are necessary for the completion of the work assignment. Significant work in another classification may be required if accompanied by applicable wage adjustments.
- Proper utilization of tools and equipment commonly employed in the Electrical Maintenance sector.
- Completion of all mandated training requirements as per government and management directives.
- Timely and cost-effective execution of responsibilities.
- Accurate and timely completion of all departmental tasks.
- Engagement with a diverse range of individuals in a professional and courteous manner.
- Adherence to established safety protocols and sound industrial and office safety practices.
- Compliance with company Standard Operating Procedures and Personnel policies.
- Ability to perform well under pressure.
Qualifications:
Required Skills and Experience:- A minimum of four (4) years of experience in electrical maintenance.
- Proficiency in reading blueprints, bending conduits, troubleshooting, repairing motors and controls, and installing and repairing AC and DC equipment.
- Demonstrated knowledge of switches, transformers, and transformer connections.
- Capability to work on electrical equipment situated at various heights.
- Must obtain and maintain necessary explosives certifications when assigned to ordnance operations.
- Possession of essential hand tools required for the trade.
- Ability to troubleshoot equipment effectively.
- Ability to meet and maintain company physical and security standards, including respirator qualification and clearance eligibility when necessary.
- Strong communication skills suitable for a service team environment.
- Valid state driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
- Ability to successfully pass any required background checks and/or drug tests.
- U.S. Citizenship is required.
Candidates must provide proof of immunity to tetanus, measles, rubella, and mumps through physician-signed documentation of either immunization or antibody titer, as well as evidence of a TB test conducted within the past year.
Compensation – $42.56 per hour.
