We are looking for a Mechanical Engineering Technician for a contract role.

  • Position: Mechanical Engineering Technician
  • Position Type: Contract
  • Salary: Competitive hourly rate plus overtime
  • Clearance: Top Secret
  • Travel: 20%

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, schedule, execute, document, and maintain records related to preventive and corrective maintenance on marine mechanical systems and equipment, including HVAC systems, electrical generators, and marine diesel engines.
  • Operate and maintain electric and hydraulic cranes, ensuring compliance with safety standards and performing inspections on load-bearing components.
  • Work under various weather conditions, maintaining a tidy and organized workspace while lifting and transporting heavy equipment.
  • Perform necessary custodial tasks to uphold shop cleanliness.
  • Complete and sustain a DOT medical/physical examination as required for operating heavy machinery.
  • Adapt to working in marine environments, including tasks on boats and piers.
  • Maintain and repair mechanical systems, including generators and HVAC systems.

Required Qualifications:

  • At least 15 years of commercial experience or 8 years of military experience with relevant training.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience under NAVFAC P-307 guidelines.
  • 2+ years of experience with production machinery.
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • OSHA certifications.
