Position Overview

InGenesis is actively seeking qualified candidates for the role of Referral Coordinator. This position involves managing referrals for specialized off-site consultations and follow-up medical visits. Please note that this role is contingent upon the awarding of a contract.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Organizes, updates, and maintains medical referral documentation.
  • Facilitates the acquisition or leasing of durable medical equipment.
  • Communicates with external medical providers to arrange appointments.
  • Monitors adherence to scheduled patient visits.
  • Identifies discrepancies in referral documentation within the electronic health record (eHR) system to ensure compliance and resolution.
  • Coordinates transportation services and compiles the sealed medical record packet.
  • Manages all correspondence requiring authorization for medical service payments.
  • Prepares reports to verify that all referrals are accurately completed prior to submission for payment, rectifying any identified errors.
  • Aids in reconciling and addressing denied claims from external providers.
  • Maintains accurate record-keeping practices.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.

Essential Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent GED.
  • A minimum of one year of experience in a healthcare environment, such as a medical record technician or clerk.
  • At least one year of experience in scheduling medical appointments, including radiology, specialty consultations, and surgical procedures.
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Familiarity with fundamental eHR procedures and standards.
  • Basic understanding of medical terminology.
  • Knowledge of Current Procedural Terminology (CPT) codes.
  • Proficiency in common Microsoft Office applications.
  • Understanding of HIPAA regulations and Personally Identifiable Information (PII) protocols.
  • Spanish language proficiency is preferred but not mandatory.

This position is contingent upon the awarding of a contract.
