Position Overview

The Surveillance Officer II plays a crucial role in monitoring, documenting, and reporting activities related to gaming operations, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and established protocols. This position also aids casino management in resolving disputes involving customers or employees. In the absence of the Surveillance Supervisor, the Surveillance Officer II assumes supervisory responsibilities, overseeing all functions within the Surveillance Department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to the company's mission, expectations, and departmental procedures.
  • Participate in comprehensive training covering all aspects of surveillance and casino operations, including equipment usage, detection techniques, and departmental protocols.
  • Utilize surveillance technology to identify, document, and report any suspicious or illegal activities.
  • Monitor and report any violations of regulations or procedures.
  • Conduct thorough observations and documentation of daily casino activities.
  • Ensure restricted areas are accessed only by authorized personnel.
  • Complete routine video reviews, reports, and log entries accurately.
  • Monitor compliance with cash handling regulations.
  • Stay informed about current regulations and policies to ensure adherence.
  • Maintain security and confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Report any technical issues, suspicious activities, or safety risks to management.
  • Conduct special observations as directed by management.
  • Assist in investigations as directed by the Surveillance Director or management team.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

In the absence of the Surveillance Supervisor, the following responsibilities apply:

  • Oversee team members and operations within the Surveillance Department.
  • Supervise surveillance staff, manage shift operations, and coordinate scheduling.
  • Provide training for all surveillance personnel as needed.
  • Review surveillance reports for accuracy and verify reported incidents.
  • Collaborate with security and other departments for matters requiring further investigation.
  • Assist in maintaining surveillance equipment and report repair needs promptly.
  • Carry out other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED required; must complete a GED program within six months if currently enrolled.
  • Must be at least twenty-one (21) years old.
  • One (1) year of experience in casino surveillance or a related field is required.
  • Preferred: Six (6) months of supervisory experience.
  • Intermediate computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Word and report writing.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • High level of maturity and self-management abilities.
  • Willingness to work irregular hours, including nights and weekends.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing job duties and responsibilities.
  • Willingness to travel for training as required.
  • Valid State Driver's License and an insurable driving record are necessary.
  • Must obtain and maintain an Occupational License as per regulatory requirements.
