Competitive Events Coordinator

We are seeking a highly organized and collaborative individual to join our team as a Competitive Events Coordinator. This full-time position in our Agriculture Department requires a strong passion for event management, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage all competitive events entries, including supervision and training of volunteers.
- Collaborate with area organizations represented in New England to develop and implement event initiatives.
- Facilitate and coordinate off-season events, including the Fiber Festival of New England, Northeast Gold Wine & Cider Competition, and The Big E Gold Cheese Competition.
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with stakeholders, regional and national associations, and other agricultural fairs.
- Coordinate and implement educational programming and exhibits for the annual fair.
- Provide innovation and collaboration with other departments to support events and attract stakeholder groups.
- Respond to inquiries from and regarding competitive exhibitors.
- Oversee all tasks required for a successful event.
- Keep updated records in maintaining budgets and reports.
Requirements:
- Associates degree and/or equivalent event management experience.
- Strong knowledge of technology, including Windows operating systems, iPad, Microsoft Office, and social media platforms.
- Strong staff and volunteer management and training skills.
- Capacity to handle stressful situations in a positive, professional manner.
- Highly organized with attention to detail and critical thinking.
- Flexible and creative approach to work and unforeseen changes.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to lift or move objects weighing 25 lbs.
- Ability to walk, sit, and stand for extended periods of time.
- Valid driver's license.
Benefits:
- Annual salary of $42,500 - $48,500, depending on experience and expertise.
- Comprehensive health, vision, and dental insurance (all after 90 days).
- 401k, bonus eligibility up to 12% of annual salary.

- 10 days paid vacation; 8 sick days (can carry over to next year up to 90 days); 4 personal days after 1 year; 12 paid holidays; Alternative Schedule options.
