The Mid-States Organized Crime Information Center (MOCIC) is currently seeking a dedicated Administrative Assistant to join our team in Springfield, MO. MOCIC is a collaborative organization comprising law enforcement and criminal justice agencies across the Midwestern United States, focused on addressing multi-jurisdictional criminal activities. As a member of the RISS Centers, MOCIC plays a vital role in assisting local, state, federal, and tribal criminal justice agencies by offering tailored solutions and services that enhance information sharing, support criminal investigations, and ensure officer safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide clerical support and assistance to the executive director, including managing correspondence, evaluating requests, maintaining filing systems, and coordinating information.
- Organize travel arrangements and scheduling for the executive director and the executive committee, as well as other staff as necessary.
- Deliver primary clerical and administrative support to the executive committee, including meeting coordination and planning.
- Record, transcribe, and maintain minutes of executive committee meetings and other administrative records.
- Plan and coordinate meetings and events for assigned groups, including supervisory and law enforcement coordinator meetings.
- Assist with data entry for expenses and review/approve expense reports for travel related to the executive director and executive committee.
- Compile reports, including statistical data, from various sources for administrative functions.
- Gather agenda information for quarterly executive committee meetings and manage electronic resources and documentation.
- Assist in managing pool vehicles, including scheduling maintenance and monitoring usage.
- Support engagement and team-building activities for staff and executive committee members.
- Answer phone calls, direct inquiries, and operate the telephone system.
- Manage front reception duties, providing general support to visitors and ensuring compliance with organizational policies.
- Handle confidential information with discretion.
Qualifications: Candidates should possess a high school diploma or equivalent, supplemented by additional training in clerical or administrative skills from an accredited institution, along with experience in performing complex administrative duties. Equivalent combinations of education, training, and experience will be considered.
Work Environment: The position is based in Springfield, MO, with standard office hours typically from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. Flexible scheduling may be available after the introductory period, subject to departmental needs and management approval. Some travel may be required.
Salary: The starting salary for this role is $46,739.
Candidate Requirements:
- Successful completion of an extensive background investigation.
- Drug testing will be conducted.
