Position Objective

We are in search of an Events Coordination Specialist, a full-time exempt role within the Agriculture Department. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, collaborative, and enthusiastic, with a passion for craftsmanship and the spirit of friendly competition.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the facilitation and management of all competitive events, including programming and initiatives.
  • Plan and execute off-season events, ensuring successful participation and engagement.
  • Build and maintain robust relationships with various stakeholders, including regional and national associations.
  • Manage the entry process, including registration, compliance, and revisions to entry materials.
  • Coordinate the development and delivery of educational programming and exhibits for the annual fair.
  • Collaborate with other departments to enhance events by integrating competitive elements.
  • Address inquiries from competitive exhibitors and ensure a seamless experience.
  • Maintain accurate records related to budgets and reports.
  • Work closely with various departments to implement plans for successful event management.

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree or equivalent experience in event management.
  • Proficient in technology, including Windows OS, Microsoft Office, and social media platforms.
  • Strong skills in staff and volunteer management and training.
  • Ability to maintain professionalism in high-pressure situations.
  • Highly organized with a keen eye for detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Flexible and innovative approach to work and unexpected challenges.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Physical capability to lift objects up to 25 lbs and endure extended periods of walking, sitting, and standing.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Availability for weekend and extended hours during event preparations.
