Position Objective
We are in search of an Events Coordination Specialist, a full-time exempt role within the Agriculture Department. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, collaborative, and enthusiastic, with a passion for craftsmanship and the spirit of friendly competition.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the facilitation and management of all competitive events, including programming and initiatives.
- Plan and execute off-season events, ensuring successful participation and engagement.
- Build and maintain robust relationships with various stakeholders, including regional and national associations.
- Manage the entry process, including registration, compliance, and revisions to entry materials.
- Coordinate the development and delivery of educational programming and exhibits for the annual fair.
- Collaborate with other departments to enhance events by integrating competitive elements.
- Address inquiries from competitive exhibitors and ensure a seamless experience.
- Maintain accurate records related to budgets and reports.
- Work closely with various departments to implement plans for successful event management.
Qualifications
- Associate's degree or equivalent experience in event management.
- Proficient in technology, including Windows OS, Microsoft Office, and social media platforms.
- Strong skills in staff and volunteer management and training.
- Ability to maintain professionalism in high-pressure situations.
- Highly organized with a keen eye for detail and problem-solving skills.
- Flexible and innovative approach to work and unexpected challenges.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Physical capability to lift objects up to 25 lbs and endure extended periods of walking, sitting, and standing.
- Valid driver's license required.
- Availability for weekend and extended hours during event preparations.
