Position Overview:

This role demands a comprehensive understanding of structural design and engineering methodologies.

The individual will be accountable for orchestrating and executing independent tasks that necessitate discernment in the assessment, selection, application, and modification of engineering methodologies, protocols, and standards.

Innovative solutions to challenges will be developed, along with the preparation or alteration of drawings, specifications, calculations, ensuring adherence to relevant codes, recognized engineering practices, and Frazier standards.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Preparation and/or modification of structural engineering calculations.
  • Development of structural engineering plans, designs, and layouts.
  • Creation of project specifications for structural engineering.
  • Initial structural engineering design for project proposals.

Core Functions:

Responsibilities encompass, but are not limited to:

  • Conducting structural design and analysis calculations in accordance with governing codes, specifications, and standards (AISC, IBC, RMI, AISI, ASCE, ASTM).
  • Detailing and laying out segments of projects using schematic layouts and sales drawings.
  • Producing drawings and sketches for personal designs and generating sketches for incorporation by Designers/Drafters.
  • Investigating design alternatives and documenting findings.
  • Reviewing shop drawings.
  • Acting as Project Engineer and designated Client liaison on projects.
  • Overseeing and guiding Designers/Drafters on project tasks.
  • Coordinating efforts with other disciplines, including architectural and mechanical.
  • Utilizing engineering and design software to prepare engineering design documents.
  • Participating in Client and Frazier meetings.
  • Conducting field activities, such as observing and recording existing site conditions, and verifying measurements within the project area.
  • Organizing, drafting, and coordinating technical documentation.
  • Managing and executing projects efficiently in a dynamic environment.
  • Collaborating with Project Management to ensure designs consider installation methods and limitations.
  • Coordinating with Purchasing and Manufacturing departments.

Qualifications:

A Bachelor of Science or Master of Science degree in Structural Civil Engineering, with a specialization in Structures, and 5-10 years of advanced experience in structural engineering is required.


Skills and Certifications:
  • Proficiency in RISA, SCIA, or equivalent finite element analysis software.
  • Experience collaborating with clients across multiple disciplines.
  • Strong computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Suite.
  • Preferred licensure as a SE or PE.
  • Background checks will include verification of previous employment, education, criminal history, and driving record.
  • Knowledge of designing in compliance with Chapter C 'Design for Stability' of the AISC Code.

Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Overtime may be necessary as workload dictates, which may include weekdays, weekends, and/or holidays.

The job will primarily be performed in an office environment but may necessitate travel to visit clients or project sites.

Conditions will vary at each location, but the characteristics described above will generally apply.

When working outside of Frazier's office, appropriate safety training and equipment will be provided as required.

Compensation:
$103,000 - $108,427.00 per year
