Position: Service Center Supervisor for Automotive and Diesel

This motivated individual will take charge of a skilled team of medium/heavy-duty truck and automotive/light truck technicians, ensuring exceptional customer service delivery. Key Responsibilities:

The primary functions of this role include, but are not limited to:

  • Assessing the previous shift's accomplishments and notes as necessary.
  • Reviewing the upcoming shift work schedule and making necessary adjustments.
  • Assigning technicians to customer service orders based on their skill levels.
  • Conducting job briefings for all assigned service orders with technicians.
  • Prioritizing and geographically assigning vehicles for repair within the service center.
  • Monitoring technician performance, including targeted completion times and repair durations.
  • Overseeing technicians involved in emergency road service requests.
  • Evaluating and assigning realistic repair time estimates for customer service orders.
  • Reviewing technician parts and labor requests.
  • Assessing technician preventive maintenance inspection reports.
  • Posting and authorizing technician labor hour guidelines on service orders as required.
  • Tracking attendance and tardiness through start and quit times.
  • Managing shift break and lunch times to enhance shop efficiency.
  • Participating in ongoing training and development.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of five years of experience in a leadership or supervisory role within a repair facility is preferred.
  • Strong customer service and management skills.
  • Ability to multitask effectively.
  • Experience as a mechanic with a solid background in diagnostics and repair across various vehicle types.
  • Familiarity with diagnostic equipment and service manuals.
  • Proficient internet navigation and technical support skills.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and work ethic.
  • A valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Class B CDL endorsement is preferred.
  • Ability to pass a background check.
