Position Overview:
The Head of Brand Strategy & Product Marketing is responsible for spearheading the comprehensive go-to-market approach and framework, which includes: establishing product positioning and unique selling propositions, crafting consumer messaging, defining content pillars, and strategizing campaign ideation.
This individual will oversee the management of the overarching brand marketing calendar, ensuring alignment with the financial objectives of the organization and each channel leader.
They must effectively drive the brand calendar, campaign strategy, storytelling, and key messaging across the organization, collaborating cross-functionally with various teams to ensure that all departmental plans are in sync with the central marketing strategy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate cross-functionally to create the annual Marketing Plan, which includes new product launches, support plans for key pillars, promotional activities, and significant events aimed at driving additional revenue and enhancing market share across all brands and product lines.
- Analyze consumer, market, behavioral, channel, and category trends to propose innovative product developments to leadership.
- Lead the creation of groundbreaking, insight-driven marketing campaigns and provide the activation team with the necessary strategies, narratives, and plans for each initiative.
- Utilize consumer research and post-campaign evaluations to continuously refine marketing strategies and programming.
- Cultivate strong relationships with internal stakeholders to foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and partnership.
- Assess sales potential for new product innovations through detailed launch sizing analyses using market data and share of market potential.
- Execute the Marketing Plan by empowering the team to develop products and compelling communication, while partnering with cross-functional teams such as Social, Influencer, Creative, and Sales to create successful 360-degree campaign activation plans for all major launches and initiatives.
- Collaborate closely with the Product Development team to create award-winning formulas and attractive packaging that resonate with consumers.
- Work with the Creative team to develop impactful storytelling through compelling creative assets.
- Communicate launch strategies and plans to management and across the organization, securing buy-in from leadership on key product marketing initiatives.
- Optimize the category assortment by identifying key opportunities for innovation, as well as top-performing and underperforming SKUs and franchises; develop action plans to enhance assortment.
Qualifications:
- BA/BS; Master’s degree preferred.
- 7+ years of experience in brand/product marketing roles within the color cosmetics sector.
- Proven experience working directly with C-Level Executives, Board Members, and/or Founders.
- Strong ability to synthesize market data and leverage insights to provide actionable solutions.
- Demonstrated collaborative leadership skills.
- Proficient project management capabilities.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong quantitative data analysis skills.
- Experience leading cross-functional teams, including project management (e.g., timeline and key milestone development).
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment without established processes.
