Position Overview: This role plays a crucial part in the daily operations of Federal entities, delivering on-site support services that enhance the management, storage, and integration of information while fostering collaboration across various organizational groups. The selected candidate will oversee the development, operation, and maintenance of Power BI/Power App Tools, MS SharePoint sites, dashboards, and other internal collaboration environments. Following the transition from MS SharePoint 2010 to Microsoft SharePoint Online (SPO), the candidate will be responsible for gathering customer requirements, designing data architecture, and creating automated solutions of varying complexities through a structured, agile methodology. The role also involves providing training and technical support as an extension of the service desk, ensuring that specific mission objectives are met through the utilization of Microsoft SPO and the Power Platform (PowerApps, Power Automate, Power BI) to streamline business processes, promote knowledge sharing, and enhance operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Independently design, modify, and enhance the effectiveness and visibility of MS SharePoint sites, dashboards, and related collaboration spaces.
  • Utilize MS SharePoint features and associated tools to capture knowledge assets that bolster operational collaboration and efficiency.
  • Offer support for MS SharePoint collaboration spaces, including metrics reporting, data analysis, design enhancements, and user training.
  • Develop a comprehensive data migration strategy and facilitate stakeholder engagement.
  • Lead assessment sessions to establish a clear understanding of project plans, dependencies, responsibilities, and deliverables.
  • Conduct requirements gathering and automate processes using Microsoft Power Platform and other modern applications.
  • Design and implement tailored SharePoint configurations following best practices to enhance user experience.
  • Create and manage Metadata Term Store, Catalogs, Term-driven navigation, and Display Templates.
  • Develop front-end interfaces using web technologies such as HTML, Bootstrap, JavaScript, CSS, XSLT, XML, jQuery, and REST API.
  • Recommend improvements regarding system architecture, security, and governance.
  • Enhance integrations between SharePoint and other applications.
  • Identify and optimize the organization’s data storage and integration methods within SharePoint.
  • Implement user-friendly enhancements to applications to reduce administrative burdens.
  • Prepare meeting agendas, create presentation materials, facilitate meetings, and track action items.
  • Provide training, standard operating procedures, user guides, and presentations on SharePoint and related tools.
  • Develop test cases and document technical features of applications; create manuals for SharePoint site administration.
  • Troubleshoot existing application issues and contribute to the development of new features.
  • Support program/project planning and milestone tracking.
  • Deliver regular status reports on SharePoint-related tasks and activities.
  • Perform additional SharePoint-related duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • U.S. citizenship is required.
  • Ability to pass a background check is mandatory.
  • At least five (5) years of dedicated experience in an IT role, specifically in planning and designing Microsoft SharePoint environments.
  • Proficient understanding of the interoperability of SharePoint Online with other Microsoft Office products.
  • Advanced knowledge of SharePoint Online features.
  • Expertise in InfoPath, SharePoint Designer, and SharePoint workflows.
  • Strong skills in CSS, HTML, and JavaScript for enhancing SharePoint functionality.
  • Hands-on experience with Web Services and JavaScript/jQuery libraries.
  • Familiarity with Section 508 compliance in electronic and information technology.
  • Knowledge of SharePoint WebParts configuration.
  • Experience with XSLT and its application in SharePoint.
  • Familiarity with calculated fields and Content Query WebParts.
  • Advanced debugging skills for resolving technical issues.
  • Proficient in Agile Development processes.
  • Knowledge of Office 365 / SharePoint Online and Power Platform.
  • Experience integrating third-party tools.
  • Understanding of C#, SharePoint Object Model, and SharePoint Framework.
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Strong documentation skills and attention to detail.
  • Proactive interest in new technologies and professional development.
Education:
  • BA/BS degree in an Information Technology-related field.
Preferred Certifications:
  • Microsoft 365 Certified: Fundamentals
  • Microsoft Certified: Power Platform Fundamentals
  • Microsoft Certified: Power Platform Developer Associate
