Following the transition from MS SharePoint 2010 to Microsoft SharePoint Online (SPO), the candidate will be responsible for gathering client requirements, designing data architecture, and creating automated solutions of varying complexities through a structured, agile methodology. The role includes providing training and technical support as an extension of the service desk, addressing specific mission objectives through the use of Microsoft SPO and Power Platform (PowerApps, Power Automate, Power BI) to streamline business processes, promote knowledge sharing, and enhance operational productivity.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Independently enhance the effectiveness, efficiency, and visibility of MS SharePoint sites, dashboards, and related collaborative spaces.
  • Utilize MS SharePoint features and tools to capture knowledge assets that foster operational collaboration and efficiency.
  • Support metrics reporting and data analysis through MS SharePoint collaboration spaces, including design enhancements and data management strategies.
  • Facilitate a data migration plan and support stakeholder engagement.
  • Lead sessions to establish a shared understanding of project plans, dependencies, responsibilities, deliverables, and work products.
  • Conduct requirements gathering and develop internal and external applications, automating processes using Microsoft power platforms and similar applications.
  • Design and implement customized SharePoint configurations following best practices to enhance user experience.
  • Create Metadata Term Store, Catalogs, Term-driven navigation, and Display Templates.
  • Develop front-end solutions using web technologies such as HTML, Bootstrap, JavaScript, CSS, XSLT, XML, jQuery, and REST API.
  • Recommend modifications regarding system architecture, security considerations, and governance.
  • Improve interfaces between SharePoint and other applications.
  • Identify and enhance methods for storing, recording, and integrating SharePoint data.
  • Implement user-friendly improvements to applications to reduce administrative burdens.
  • Prepare meeting agendas, presentation materials, and provide facilitation support, documenting notes and tracking action items.
  • Deliver training, standard operating procedures, user guides, and presentations on SharePoint and related tools; participate in high-level discussions on site and tool development.
  • Develop test cases and document technical features of applications; create manuals for administering the SharePoint site.
  • Troubleshoot current application issues and contribute to the development of new product features.
  • Support program/project planning and milestone development.
  • Provide regular status reports on SharePoint tasks and activities.
  • Perform additional SharePoint-related duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • U.S. citizenship is required.
  • Ability to pass a background check is mandatory.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of dedicated experience in an Information Technology role, focusing on planning and designing Microsoft SharePoint environments.
  • Proficient understanding of the interoperability of SharePoint Online with other Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, etc.).
  • Advanced knowledge of SharePoint Online features (e.g., Excel Services, BCS, Enterprise Search, Usage Reporting).
  • Expertise in InfoPath, SharePoint Designer, and SharePoint workflows.
  • Strong skills in CSS, HTML, and JavaScript to enhance SharePoint functionality.
  • Hands-on experience with Web Services and JavaScript/jQuery libraries using SOAP, REST, JSON.
  • Familiarity with electronic and information technology to ensure Section 508 compliance.
  • Understanding of SharePoint WebParts configuration, particularly List Filters, WebPart Filters, Search, and Data Connections.
  • Knowledge of XSLT and its application in SharePoint.
  • Experience with calculated fields and Content Query WebParts.
  • Advanced debugging skills for system-wide technical issues.
  • Proficient in Agile Development processes, defining functional and technical requirements.
  • Knowledge of Office 365 / SharePoint Online, especially Power Platform (PowerApps, Power Automate, Power BI) and Microsoft Flow.
  • Experience integrating third-party tools like Nintex, Metalogix, AvePoint.
  • Familiarity with C#, SharePoint Object Model, SharePoint App Model, SharePoint Framework.
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills; capable of presenting complex IT solutions in an understandable manner.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and collaboratively within a team.
  • Strong documentation skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Demonstrated interest in new technologies and professional development.
Educational Requirements:
  • BA/BS degree in an Information Technology-related field.
