The Senior Aircraft Maintenance Technician will be responsible for executing both scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on aircraft and associated equipment, ensuring compliance with the Performance Work Statement (PWS), M1 policy, DAFI, and relevant industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:


• Conducts repairs and modifications on aircraft structures, components, and engines, addressing tasks of varying complexity.


• Performs maintenance on aircraft systems, including but not limited to flight controls, engines, hydraulics, pneumatics, fuel systems, and mechanical parts.


• Utilizes technical expertise in airframe and power plant systems to diagnose equipment malfunctions and restore operational integrity.


• Provides professional guidance to resolve intricate issues by interpreting technical documentation such as blueprints and manufacturer manuals.


• Requires comprehensive knowledge of troubleshooting and repair procedures for aircraft mechanical components, along with expertise in aircraft sheet metal modifications and repairs.


• Must be proficient with specialized aircraft tools and equipment, including test instruments, torque wrenches, and other precision measuring devices.


• Engages in maintenance activities across various aircraft types in a highly versatile environment.


• Expected to demonstrate competency in areas such as repair and reclamation, egress systems, avionics, propulsion, and non-destructive inspection (NDI).


• Maintains accurate records of aircraft and support equipment in accordance with Air Force procedures using relevant information systems.


• Participates in transient aircraft support, Quality Assurance (QA) tasks, and other specialized maintenance duties.

Qualifications and Experience:


• A minimum of ten years of experience in fighter aircraft maintenance within a military context, with at least eight years focused on F-117A, and attainment of an Air Force 7 level (or equivalent) is essential.


• Must exhibit reliability, self-motivation, and the ability to manage high-pressure situations while maintaining professionalism.


• Capable of assisting colleagues and performing additional tasks as assigned.


• Responsible for documenting maintenance activities and providing technical support to junior technicians throughout the maintenance process.


• Strong organizational skills are required to prioritize tasks effectively and meet aircraft delivery timelines.


• May be called upon to lead teams in executing complex maintenance tasks and must be able to document activities in aircraft logs.


• Knowledge of aircraft systems, maintenance directives, and technical data reporting is mandatory.


• Familiarity with Air Force supply chain and efficiency reporting protocols is required.


• Understanding of hazardous material handling and disposal regulations is essential.


• Must be eligible to obtain and maintain the necessary security clearance as required by government standards.


• Must hold a valid U.S. Driver's License and possess the ability to communicate effectively in English.


• A high school diploma or GED is required.

Working Conditions:


• The position involves unique commuting and travel requirements.


• Work will take place in aircraft hangars and on ramps, often in proximity to operational aircraft and equipment.


• Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and overtime, is necessary.


• Exposure to outdoor conditions, including extreme temperatures, is expected.


• Potential exposure to contaminants and hazardous situations, such as working at heights or in noisy environments.


• Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as safety footwear and eyewear will be required.
