The Senior Aircraft Maintenance Technician – Egress will be responsible for executing both scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on aircraft and associated equipment, adhering to the Performance Work Statement (PWS), M1 policy, and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducts repairs and modifications on aircraft structures, components, and engines, handling tasks of varying complexity.
  • Performs maintenance on aircraft systems including flight controls, engines, hydraulics, pneumatics, fuel systems, and mechanical components.
  • Utilizes technical expertise to diagnose equipment malfunctions and restore operational integrity.
  • Interprets technical data such as blueprints and manufacturer manuals to resolve complex issues.
  • Demonstrates comprehensive knowledge of troubleshooting and repair procedures for aircraft mechanical components.
  • Employs specialized tools and equipment for maintenance tasks, ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards.
  • Engages in cross-utilization training, performing maintenance on various aircraft types as assigned.
  • Maintains accurate records of aircraft and support equipment in accordance with established procedures.
  • Provides transient aircraft support and participates in various maintenance activities as required.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • A minimum of five years of experience in aircraft egress maintenance within a military context, with an Air Force 7 level or equivalent certification.
  • Must possess ACES II Egress certification.
  • Demonstrates reliability, self-motivation, and the ability to work under pressure while maintaining professionalism.
  • Capable of assisting colleagues and performing additional duties as assigned.
  • Proficient in documenting maintenance activities and providing guidance to junior technicians.
  • Possesses strong organizational skills to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • May lead teams in complex maintenance operations and ensure accurate documentation.
  • Knowledgeable in aircraft systems, maintenance directives, and technical data usage.
  • Familiar with Air Force supply and reporting procedures.
  • Understands the handling and disposal of hazardous materials.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain the required security clearance.
  • Maintains qualifications as per the Special Certification Roster.
  • Possesses a valid U.S. Driver's License.
  • Fluent in English, with the ability to read, write, and understand technical documentation.
  • A high school diploma or GED is mandatory.

Working Conditions:

  • Complies with specific commuting and travel requirements.
  • Works in aircraft hangars and on ramps, close to operational aircraft.
  • Available for shifts that may include days, nights, weekends, or overtime.
  • May work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Potential exposure to contaminants and hazardous environments.
  • Required to use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as safety footwear and eyewear.
