Senior Aircraft Maintenance Technician

The Senior Aircraft Maintenance Technician will be responsible for executing both scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on aircraft and associated equipment, adhering to the Performance Work Statement (PWS), M1 policy, DAFI, and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:


• Conducts maintenance, repairs, and modifications on aircraft structures and components, including engines, with varying levels of complexity.


• Oversees the repair of aircraft systems, including flight controls, hydraulics, fuel systems, and mechanical components.


• Utilizes technical expertise to diagnose equipment malfunctions and restore operational integrity.


• Interprets technical documentation such as blueprints and manufacturer manuals to resolve intricate issues.


• Requires comprehensive knowledge of troubleshooting and repair procedures for mechanical components, as well as aircraft structural modifications.


• Familiarity with specialized tools and equipment, including torque wrenches, micrometers, and sheet metal tools, is essential.


• Engages in maintenance activities across various aircraft types in a cross-utilized environment.


• Demonstrates proficiency in areas such as propulsion, avionics, and non-destructive inspection (NDI).


• Maintains accurate records of aircraft maintenance in accordance with Air Force procedures.


• Participates in transient aircraft support and other maintenance-related duties as required.

Qualifications:


• A minimum of seven years of experience in aircraft structural and metals technology maintenance within a military context is required.


• Candidates must exhibit reliability, self-motivation, and the ability to manage stressful situations while maintaining professionalism.


• Experience in guiding and mentoring lower-level technicians during maintenance tasks is essential.


• Strong organizational skills are necessary to prioritize workload effectively.


• Must possess a valid U.S. Driver's License and be able to communicate proficiently in English.


• High school diploma or GED is mandatory.

Working Environment:


• The role involves working in aircraft hangars and outdoor environments, often near operational aircraft.


• Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights and weekends, is required.


• Exposure to noise, contaminants, and hazardous conditions is possible, necessitating the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
