Senior Aircraft Maintenance Technician

The Senior Aircraft Maintenance Technician – Egress is responsible for executing both scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on aircraft and associated equipment, adhering to the Performance Work Statement (PWS), M1 policies, and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform repairs and modifications on aircraft structures, components, and engines of varying complexity.
  • Conduct maintenance on aircraft systems, including flight controls, hydraulics, fuel systems, and mechanical components.
  • Utilize technical expertise to diagnose equipment malfunctions and restore operational capability.
  • Interpret technical data, including blueprints and manufacturer manuals, to address complex issues.
  • Possess comprehensive knowledge of troubleshooting and repair procedures for aircraft mechanical components.
  • Utilize specialized tools and equipment, such as torque wrenches and micrometers, for maintenance tasks.
  • Support maintenance operations on various aircraft types in a highly cross-trained environment.
  • Demonstrate competency in areas such as egress systems, avionics, propulsion, and non-destructive inspection (NDI).
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with Air Force procedures.
  • Engage in transient aircraft support and quality assurance activities.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • A minimum of five years of experience in aircraft egress maintenance within a military context, with an Air Force 7 level (or equivalent) certification.
  • Reliable and self-motivated, capable of managing stress and meeting deadlines while maintaining professionalism.
  • Ability to assist and guide lower-level technicians during maintenance efforts.
  • Strong organizational skills to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Experience in providing technical support to engineers and clients.
  • Knowledge of aircraft systems and maintenance directives is essential.
  • Familiarity with hazardous materials handling and disposal procedures is required.
  • Must possess a valid U.S. Driver's License and meet security clearance requirements.
  • Proficiency in English is mandatory.
  • A high school diploma or GED is required.

Working Conditions:

  • Compliance with unique commuting and travel requirements is necessary.
  • Work will occur in aircraft hangars and outdoor environments, often near operating aircraft.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights and weekends, is expected.
  • Exposure to varying weather conditions and potential contaminants is possible.
  • Utilization of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is mandatory.
