Senior Aircraft Maintenance Technician

The Senior Aircraft Maintenance Technician will be responsible for executing both scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on aircraft and associated equipment, adhering to the Performance Work Statement (PWS), M1 policy, DAFI, and relevant industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:


• Conducts maintenance, repairs, and modifications on aircraft structures and components, including engines, with varying levels of complexity.


• Performs maintenance on aircraft systems such as flight controls, hydraulics, pneumatics, fuel systems, and mechanical components.


• Utilizes technical expertise to diagnose equipment malfunctions and restore operational functionality.


• Interprets technical documents, including blueprints and manufacturer manuals, to resolve intricate issues.


• Requires extensive knowledge of troubleshooting and repair procedures for aircraft mechanical components, as well as aircraft sheet metal and structural modifications.


• Familiarity with specialized aircraft tools and equipment is essential, including test devices, torque wrenches, and micrometers.


• Engages in maintenance activities across various aircraft types in a cross-utilized environment.


• Expected to demonstrate proficiency in areas such as repair and reclamation, avionics, propulsion, and non-destructive inspection (NDI).


• Maintains accurate records of aircraft and support equipment in compliance with Air Force procedures.


• Participates in transient aircraft support and quality assurance activities.

Qualifications and Experience:


• A minimum of seven years of experience in aircraft structural and metals technology maintenance within a military context, with an Air Force 7 level (or equivalent) certification.


• Must exhibit reliability, self-motivation, and the ability to manage stressful situations while maintaining professionalism.


• Capable of guiding and mentoring junior technicians during maintenance and modification tasks.


• Strong organizational skills are required to prioritize workload effectively and meet delivery schedules.


• Must possess a valid U.S. Driver's License and be able to communicate effectively in English.


• High school diploma or GED is mandatory.

Working Conditions:


• Position may require travel and adherence to unique commuting requirements.


• Work will be conducted in aircraft hangars and on ramps, often in proximity to operational aircraft.


• Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights and weekends, is essential.


• Exposure to outdoor conditions and potential contaminants is expected.


• Must comply with safety protocols and utilize Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as necessary.
