The Senior Aircraft Maintenance Technician will be responsible for executing both scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on aircraft and associated equipment, ensuring compliance with the Performance Work Statement (PWS), M1 policy, and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:


• Conducts maintenance, repairs, and modifications on aircraft structures, components, and engines, often involving complex tasks.


• Performs repairs on various aircraft systems, including flight controls, engines, hydraulics, pneumatics, fuel systems, and mechanical components.


• Utilizes technical expertise to diagnose equipment malfunctions and restore operational efficiency.


• Provides professional guidance to resolve intricate issues by interpreting technical documents such as blueprints and manufacturer manuals.


• Requires comprehensive knowledge of troubleshooting and repair procedures for aircraft mechanical components, along with expertise in structural modifications.


• Must be proficient with specialized aircraft tools and equipment necessary for maintenance tasks.


• Engages in maintenance activities across various aircraft types in a highly versatile work environment.


• Expected to demonstrate competency in areas such as repair and reclamation, avionics, propulsion, and non-destructive inspection (NDI).


• Maintains accurate records of aircraft and support equipment in accordance with Air Force procedures.


• Participates in transient aircraft support and quality assurance functions.

Qualifications:


• A minimum of ten years of experience in fighter aircraft maintenance, with at least eight years on F-117A aircraft, and attainment of an Air Force 7 level (or equivalent) is essential.


• Candidates must exhibit reliability, self-motivation, and the ability to handle high-pressure situations while maintaining professionalism.


• Capable of providing mentorship and technical support to junior technicians during maintenance and modification efforts.


• Strong organizational skills are required to prioritize tasks effectively and meet aircraft delivery schedules.


• May lead teams through complex maintenance tasks and is responsible for documenting maintenance activities.


• Knowledge of aircraft systems, maintenance directives, and technical data reporting is mandatory.


• Familiarity with Air Force supply and efficiency reporting procedures is required.


• Understanding of hazardous waste handling and disposal procedures is essential.


• Must be able to obtain and maintain the necessary security clearance as required.


• A valid U.S. Driver's License is mandatory.


• Proficiency in English, both written and spoken, is required.


• A high school diploma or GED is necessary.

Working Conditions:


• The position involves unique commuting and travel requirements.


• Work environments include aircraft hangars and ramps, often in proximity to operational aircraft.


• Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights and weekends, is necessary.


• Exposure to outdoor conditions, including temperature variations and contaminants, is expected.


• Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as safety footwear and glasses will be required.
