Reports to: Chief Operating Officer

Salary Range: $75,000-$85,000 Depending on Experience

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver exceptional customer service and support to all Tech9 employees and stakeholders.
  • Oversee organizational recruitment processes, serving as the primary contact for job descriptions and postings, including managing the hiring process for seasonal employees, developing interview materials, and providing training for hiring managers to ensure equitable and streamlined processes.
  • Lead compensation strategy and planning, offering market insights and forecasts on labor costs and compensation trends to support financial planning and an effective employee compensation framework.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations, providing support and education for medical accommodation requests, and leading annual HR processes including payroll-related audits.
  • Manage the processing of worker's compensation, work-related injury, and unemployment claims to ensure proper completion of required documentation.
  • Collaborate closely with the finance department to ensure alignment of financial policies and practices with legal requirements, minimizing risks and penalties.
  • Act as the primary liaison for the Collective Bargaining Agreement between Tech9 and any relevant labor unions.
  • Direct benefits strategy and serve as the main point of contact for staff inquiries regarding benefits, collaborating with finance on budgeting and tracking expenses related to benefits.
  • Lead the development and communication of employee policies, ensuring consistent enforcement across departments and managing the Employee Handbook.
  • Provide internal leadership for initiatives focused on racial equity and social justice within Tech9.
  • Maintain proactive communication with staff, leadership, and the Board, including regular updates on HR activities and changes affecting employees.
  • Oversee a proactive employee performance management process, including the development and implementation of procedures for handling employee complaints, performance improvement plans, and terminations.
  • Supervise any third-party consultants that support the human resources program as needed.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records and assist with HRMS inquiries.
  • Stay informed about changes in HR industry standards and regulatory updates.
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in Human Resources management.
  • 3+ years of experience in leading HR regulations, best practices, and procedures.
  • 3+ years of experience in documenting and reviewing established processes.
  • 3+ years of HRMS/HRIS administration experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in benefits administration.
  • 2+ years of experience managing union agreements or collaborating with union leadership.
  • Compassionate, progressive, and inclusive leadership style.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work on cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times.

  • Demonstrated commitment to racial equity.
  • 7+ years of experience in Human Resources management preferred.
  • Experience with ADP and/or EddyHR.
  • Experience in developing and supporting performance evaluation plans.
  • Experience with compensation strategy development.
  • Training or lived experience in anti-racism work.
  • Experience building positive relationships with labor unions.
  • Previous experience in technology companies or related sectors is a plus.

Work Environment: This position is full-time and will primarily work onsite, with the possibility of remote work up to 2 days per week.
