Qualifications and Experience:
  • Minimum age requirement of 21 years
  • At least 3 years of verifiable driving experience
  • Possession of a valid Arizona CDL Class B or Class A License or CDL Permit (mandatory) with passenger endorsement (preferred)
  • Clean driving history - DMV printout required for the past 10 years
  • Stable employment background

Core Responsibilities:

Customer Engagement:
  • Ensure a welcoming atmosphere for customers
  • Communicate effectively with passengers, especially during service interruptions
  • Assist passengers as required
  • Provide information such as schedules and guidance
Safety Protocols:
  • Maintain safe driving practices while ensuring timely service
  • Familiarity with designated routes and detours
  • Knowledge of ADA Policies and Procedures
  • Understanding of ADA Compliance
  • Proper operation of all wheelchair lifts for each bus model
  • Promptly report any vehicular accidents or passenger incidents to dispatch and follow established reporting procedures
Operational Duties:
  • Collect fares as prescribed and report any fare evasion or fraud to dispatch
  • Conduct pre and post-trip inspections and document any defects in the ZONAR system
  • Adhere to designated deadhead routing and assigned revenue service routes
  • Depart from the start of each route on time and avoid operating ahead of schedule
  • Report any bus bunching or other issues that may affect scheduled service
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned
Additional Information:
  • Drug and Alcohol Testing: Employment is contingent upon passing a pre-employment drug and alcohol screening. A favorable background check is also required. Candidates must pass a physical examination.
