Key Responsibilities

As the Lead COOP Subject Matter Expert, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Joint Service Provider (JSP) under the Platform Services contract. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering Tier 3 IT contingency operations support at designated continuity facilities during scheduled exercises.
  • Ensuring operational readiness of redundant systems at continuity facilities, facilitating seamless transitions during national emergencies.
  • Developing and maintaining comprehensive JSP COOP plans and training programs.
  • Coordinating enterprise disaster recovery exercises to enhance preparedness.
  • Providing technical support and acting as first responders during contingency operations.
  • Managing the transportation and protection of Controlled Cryptographic items and secure communication materials.
  • Conducting quarterly failover tests and documenting results for designated systems.
  • Overseeing server and system contingency operations support for mission-critical infrastructure.
  • Maintaining Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) systems and ensuring compliance with security protocols.
  • Monitoring resource readiness and providing status updates to relevant stakeholders.
  • Generating weekly readiness reports and identifying necessary IT capabilities for support.
  • Evaluating site deficiencies and providing recommendations for improvement.
  • Collaborating with facility management to support off-site deployments during COOP events.
  • Conducting technical assessments and evaluations related to continuity planning.
  • Supporting national security events and emergency management operations.
  • Developing and maintaining organizational Business Impact Analysis (BIA) to assess risks and impacts.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering, information systems, telecommunications, or a related field, along with 2-7 years of relevant experience.
  • DoDI 8570 IAT II certification in Information Assurance.
  • Recent technical certification in Computing Environment.
  • Top Secret security clearance.
  • Proven experience in continuity operations within complex IT environments.
  • In-depth knowledge of DoD and Government COOP policies.
  • Strong expertise in identifying functional and technical requirements.
  • Familiarity with high-level system designs and architectural documentation.
  • Proficient in current server technologies, including cloud computing and virtualization.
  • Experience with Windows Server environments.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • ITILv4 certification.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.
  • Capability to navigate between multiple buildings.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally.
