Job Overview

Position Objective:

The Financial Receivables Specialist is responsible for overseeing and managing the aging reports within the Electronic Health Record (EHR) System.

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent experience in billing processes; OR
  • Associate Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
  • Exceptional verbal communication skills for effective interaction with staff and clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review daily billing activities by analyzing accepted and rejected services, making necessary adjustments, and addressing all rejections that require corrections by team members.
  • Collaborate closely with Access Coordinator Supervisors and the Billing Manager to resolve issues that may affect the accurate reimbursement of services provided.
  • Promptly identify and escalate issues to management as needed.
  • Manage various unapplied and outstanding audit reports efficiently.
  • Demonstrate the ability to handle a high volume of work.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues.
  • Comply with learning and development assignments.
  • Be cross-trained in essential departmental functions and responsibilities.
  • Participate in relevant staff meetings and training sessions.
  • Keep the Billing Manager informed about the status of deadlines and job responsibilities.
  • Pay close attention to detail to ensure tasks are completed accurately and thoroughly.
  • Exhibit problem-solving skills and make informed decisions based on factual information.
  • Collaborate with other departments as necessary to address issues, inquiries, or special projects.
  • Effectively communicate information in an accurate and clear manner.
  • Ensure compliance with the agency's certification standards and strategic plan related to clinical services.
  • Adhere to program and agency policies and procedures.
  • Perform additional job duties and special projects as assigned.
