Position Overview
As a vital member of our healthcare team at Nuvem, Inc, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our patients receive exceptional pharmaceutical care. Your dedication to patient health, adherence, and satisfaction will be paramount as you assist in the efficient and accurate processing of prescriptions while providing a compassionate service that goes beyond expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the pharmacist in delivering outstanding service to patients and maintaining the pharmacy's operational standards.
- Prepare the pharmacy environment by sanitizing surfaces and organizing equipment.
- Welcome customers and provide assistance with their inquiries.
- Verify the legitimacy of prescriptions received.
- Process prescriptions through electronic systems, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Address and resolve issues as they arise, including insurance claim rejections.
- Select appropriate medications and accurately measure dosages for prescriptions.
- Manage inventory by sorting, stocking, labeling medications, and monitoring supplies.
- Perform administrative duties such as record-keeping as assigned.
- Adhere to all security protocols and quality assurance measures.
- Stay informed about HIPAA, HITECH, and FWA credentialing requirements.
- Assist the pharmacist with both clinical and non-clinical tasks, documenting and reporting any quality-related issues as necessary.
- Package orders in accordance with established policies and procedures.
- Coordinate medication delivery logistics with patients.
- Arrange for the delivery of medications through courier or shipping services.
- Communicate with insurance providers to facilitate payment for prescription claims.
- Handle incoming calls for prescription orders and refills, and follow up with patients regarding their medications.
- Prioritize calls and escalate issues to appropriate management when needed.

Qualifications:
Required Education & Licenses:
- Certification as a Pharmacy Technician as mandated by state regulations.
- A minimum of one year of experience as a pharmacy technician.
- Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English is essential.
- Familiarity with Micro Merchant pharmacy software.
- Understanding of medication and dosage calculations.
- Knowledge of pharmacy regulations and medical terminology.
- Exceptional communication and customer service abilities.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Dependable with a focus on accuracy.
- Completion of a pharmacy technician training program as required by state law.
- Ability to stand or walk for extended periods.
- Fine motor skills necessary for keyboarding tasks.
- Capability to view computer screens for prolonged durations.
- Ability to lift items weighing up to 50 lbs.
