Production Operations Supervisor

Under general oversight, this role is responsible for managing the shipping and receiving operations within the warehouse during the assigned shift. This includes overseeing shipping, receiving, inventory management, and product delivery to the manufacturing floor, along with daily task assignments. The position directs Team Leaders and other team members in the execution of their responsibilities, ensuring that the operational unit meets company objectives while adhering to all policies, manufacturing standards, and quality benchmarks for safety, product quality, customer satisfaction, accuracy, productivity, cost efficiency, and team morale.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Supervision and Leadership:
- Act as a first-line supervisor for team leaders and team members.
- Collaborate with the Assistant Manager to plan and coordinate hiring and placement of team members.
- Monitor staffing conditions, work hours, and absenteeism.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and practices, taking corrective action when necessary.
- Foster positive relations among team members based on trust, respect, and teamwork.
2. Production Management:
- Lead and maintain the manufacturing and production system for the assigned area, achieving departmental goals.
- Implement Toyota Production System (TPS) techniques to standardize processes and eliminate waste.
- Assign and analyze work requirements based on production schedules.
- Ensure effective application of Toyota Boshoku Business Practices (TBBP) across all manufacturing aspects.
3. Quality Assurance:
- Monitor parts flow, productivity, and quality, taking corrective actions as needed.
- Ensure quality standards are met and that team members utilize quality systems effectively.
- Collaborate with the Quality department for investigations and corrective actions.
4. Continuous Improvement:
- Participate in setting Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for safety, quality, and productivity.
- Initiate and lead continuous improvement projects and team member suggestions.
5. Safety and Training:
- Maintain a safe working environment by ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
- Conduct ergonomic assessments and implement improvements.
- Train and coach team members on productivity and quality standards.
6. Documentation and Communication:
- Collect and analyze data regarding operational activities as per company policies.
- Maintain records of production, quality, and team member performance.
- Facilitate communication between shifts and with other departments to ensure operational efficiency.
