Manufacturing Group Leader

I. Overview

The Manufacturing Group Leader is responsible for overseeing Team Leaders and team members within designated manufacturing sectors (such as assembly, injection molding, welding, etc.) to ensure the effective execution of operational responsibilities.

This role manages the manufacturing unit, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives and adherence to all policies, including Toyota Production System standards, safety protocols, product quality, and efficiency metrics.

II. Key Responsibilities:

A. Supervision and Team Management
  • Oversee the hiring and placement of team members in collaboration with the Assistant Manager. Monitor staffing levels, work hours, and training.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and address performance issues appropriately.
  • Foster positive relationships among team members based on respect, communication, and teamwork.
  • Motivate team members to prioritize safety, quality, and productivity.
B. Operational Leadership

Lead the manufacturing processes in the assigned area, ensuring departmental goals are met.

  • Implement Toyota Production System techniques to standardize processes and eliminate waste.
  • Develop and document best practices for work procedures.
  • Direct team activities to meet production requirements effectively.
C. Quality and Safety Management
  • Monitor production flow and quality, taking corrective actions as necessary.
  • Collaborate with the Quality department to address issues and ensure standards are met.
  • Proactively identify potential problems and implement solutions.
D. Continuous Improvement Initiatives
  • Set and monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for safety, quality, and efficiency.
  • Lead improvement projects and implement team suggestions.
E. Safety Compliance
  • Ensure adherence to safety regulations and company policies.
  • Conduct safety audits and ergonomic assessments.
F. Training and Development
  • Oversee training programs for team members, ensuring effective skill development.
  • Maintain training records and performance evaluations.
G. Documentation and Reporting
  • Maintain accurate records of production activities and team performance.
  • Prepare reports as required by company policy.
H. Communication
  • Facilitate communication within the team and with other departments to ensure operational efficiency.
III. Qualifications:
Education:
  • Associate's degree in Business, Manufacturing, or a related field is required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
Experience:
  • Minimum of three years in a manufacturing environment, with at least two years in a supervisory role.
  • Experience in the automotive industry is preferred.
Skills:
  • Strong leadership and communication abilities.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, multicultural environment.
  • Proficient in problem-solving and analytical skills.
