ROLE POSITIONING AND OBJECTIVES

Reports to: Manufacturing Supervisor

Number of Direct Reports: N/A

Core Relationships:

Internal: Supervisor, SAM, Director, Peers

Geographic Scope: Local

Travel Required: N/A

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Set up, operate, and monitor product filling machinery according to detailed operational guidelines.
  • Provide appropriate packaging materials to the department in accordance with scheduling and brand specifications.
  • Utilize MES/Ignition electronic systems effectively with the necessary control devices.
  • Conduct inspections of tobacco filling equipment to ensure compliance with established manufacturing and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and supervisors to confirm the correct usage of tobacco and materials, ensuring optimal equipment functionality.
  • Alert Supervisors and Quality Control when products or materials deviate from specifications.
  • Navigate and monitor MES, HMI, and touch screens, ensuring accurate data entries.
  • Operate industrial lift trucks and scissor lifts for loading and unloading materials, adhering to safety protocols.
  • Maintain adequate levels of materials in tobacco, can, and lid hoppers to support continuous production.

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, AND KNOWLEDGE

  • Prior experience in a manufacturing machine operations role is preferred.
  • Flexibility to work any shift is required.
  • Must meet certification requirements for lift truck, forklift, and scissor lift operation, as applicable.
  • Willingness to learn and retain knowledge of various tasks and departmental guidelines.
  • Mechanical and mathematical skills are essential.
  • Basic computer proficiency is required.
  • Strong oral and written communication abilities.
  • Attention to detail, proactive approach, and effective follow-through are necessary.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Physical capabilities include walking, climbing, stooping, reaching, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Visual acuity to distinguish colors and text on products is essential.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience with tobacco processing and packaging equipment.
  • Familiarity with MES, Ignition, and touch screen navigation.
