Position Overview
Leidos' Civilian Health Solutions Operation is seeking a proactive and mission-driven Asset Management Specialist to assist a federal agency with a large-scale, mission-critical hybrid infrastructure. We are assembling a remarkable team of high-impact technology professionals, and we invite you to contribute to our ongoing transformation. This role involves supporting asset management initiatives throughout the client environment. Daily responsibilities include collaborating with technical personnel, providing recommendations on asset management challenges, risks, and project change requests to ensure timely and successful project execution. The ideal candidate will possess outstanding communication skills, a strong customer service orientation, and experience in managing and developing schedules for small to medium-sized projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Proven experience with hardware, software, and documentation configuration management processes, procedures, and products.
- Label and test new equipment, including applying asset tags and other identifying information, as well as ensuring proper functionality of the equipment.
- Unbox and assess returned equipment, documenting any damage and notifying the appropriate personnel if necessary.
- Prepare equipment for disposal, which may involve data wiping and recycling.
- Maintain accurate asset inventory records, tracking the location, condition, and status of all equipment within the organization.
- Provide support to IT staff, addressing inquiries regarding asset management procedures and assisting with asset tracking and inventory.
- Demonstrated experience in managing assets, including documentation, hardware, virtual devices, software, and licenses.
- Experience in administering and maintaining software licensing, asset management, and configuration management.
- Bachelor's Degree in an IT-related field with 6+ years of experience in asset management and utilizing asset management tracking tools; additional relevant experience may substitute for a degree.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while effectively collaborating within a team environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for collaboration with testers, systems engineers, architects, software developers, and management.
- Proven ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks and adapt quickly to changing requirements.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Microsoft Project or similar project management tools.
- Actively monitor, track, and manage project tasks, timelines, and overall project quality.
- Excellent customer-facing skills with the ability to interact professionally with senior staff and the scientific community.
- Ability to collaborate with various contractor and government teams, as well as industry vendors, with professionalism and good judgment.
- PMP, ITIL4 Foundations Certification (or ability to obtain certification within three months).
