Key Responsibilities
  • Collection Management: Assist in the organization, cataloging, and maintenance of digital library materials, ensuring accurate and up-to-date metadata.
  • Digitization and Preservation: Support the digitization of print and multimedia resources, and maintain the physical condition of library materials.
  • Reference and Research Assistance: Provide expert reference and research assistance to library users, ensuring timely and accurate responses to their queries.
  • Circulation and Borrower Services: Help manage circulation services, maintain borrower records, and process interlibrary loan requests.
  • Library Reports and Statistics: Assist with the preparation and analysis of library reports, statistics, and events.
  • Digital Collections Enhancement: Support digital collections enhancement projects, metadata management, and collaboration with digital librarians to improve access to digital collections.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Library Sciences or related field, or Associates degree with an additional TWO (2) years of experience.
  • Experience: Minimum of TWO (2) years of experience in a library setting, with experience or familiarity with digital collections, metadata standards, and cataloging processes.
  • Skills: Proficiency in using library management software and office applications, with basic knowledge of digitization processes and digital library management.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Digital Collections Experience: Experience with digital collections enhancement projects and knowledge of digital asset management systems.
  • Certifications: Additional certifications in Library Science, Information Technology, or Data Science.
  • Preservation and Conservation: Knowledge of basic preservation and conservation techniques.
  • Technology Skills: Familiarity with emerging technologies in library cataloging systems and databases.
