Position Overview

The University of Nevada is seeking a Senior Administrative Coordinator for the Office of Statewide Initiatives. This role demands a high degree of independence, financial acumen, and operational discretion, along with strong decision-making and prioritization skills.

Key Responsibilities

This position entails working closely with the Associate Dean, Assistant Dean, Program Directors, and other staff members to fulfill the operational requirements of the Elko Office. The role also involves collaboration with specialists from other locations to ensure seamless integration and support across offices.

The Senior Administrative Coordinator will be involved in various functions, including:

  • Assisting with budget management and financial planning.
  • Overseeing purchasing and procurement processes.
  • Managing personnel-related tasks and accounting duties.
  • Ensuring compliance with sponsored project policies, state grants, and federal requirements.
  • Performing additional responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

To qualify for this position, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • High school diploma or equivalent, accompanied by four years of progressively responsible experience in administrative support, management assistance, or related fields.
  • Alternatively, one year of experience as an Administrative Assistant III within Nevada State service.
  • Any equivalent combination of education and experience will also be considered.

A valid Class 'C' Nevada driver's license or higher is required upon appointment and as a condition of continued employment.

Work Schedule

The standard work hours are Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, subject to adjustments based on organizational needs.

Compensation

This position is classified under Grade 29, with an entry salary range of $24.02 to $26.07 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience.
