Position Overview

The University of Nevada is seeking a Senior Administrative Coordinator for the Office of Statewide Initiatives. This role demands a high degree of autonomy and the capacity to handle sensitive financial and operational matters with sound judgment and prioritization skills.

This position will work closely with the Associate Dean, Assistant Dean, Program Directors, and other personnel to fulfill the operational requirements of the office. Furthermore, the role includes collaboration with specialists based in other locations to ensure seamless integration between different offices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the budgeting process and manage purchasing activities.
  • Support personnel management and accounting functions.
  • Ensure compliance with sponsored project policies, state grants, and federal grant requirements.
  • Provide administrative support and direction to other staff members as needed.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent, with four years of progressively responsible experience in administrative support roles.
  • Experience in a similar capacity within state service is preferred.
  • A valid Class 'C' Nevada driver's license or higher is required.

Work Schedule

The standard work hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, subject to change based on organizational needs.

Compensation and Benefits

This position is classified under Grade 29, with salary determined by experience and qualifications. Employees are enrolled in the Public Employees' Retirement System of Nevada (PERS) upon hire, which offers a robust retirement plan.
