Job Overview

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Director of Accounting oversees the formulation and execution of financial policies and practices within the organization. This role encompasses comprehensive oversight of accounting functions, systems, and the preparation of related analyses and reports.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist in the preparation and consolidation of financial statements for international operations.
  • Provide guidance on GAAP for technical accounting and external financial disclosures.
  • Evaluate and enhance internal control mechanisms.
  • Support the implementation of standardized processes throughout the global entity.
  • Deliver monthly, quarterly, and annual financial insights.
  • Contribute to the annual budgeting process.
  • Investigate accounting matters to ensure compliance with GAAP.
  • Guarantee the application of appropriate cost accounting standards across the organization.
  • Serve as the primary finance representative for ERP implementation initiatives.
  • Promote uniform master data management across the organization.
  • Act as a liaison for external auditors.
  • Support M&A activities.
  • Engage in special projects, system enhancements, or ad-hoc analyses.
  • Identify process improvements to optimize reporting and enhance team productivity.
  • Provide coverage for the Controller as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Exceptional analytical, technological, communication, and organizational abilities.
  • A minimum of five years in accounting or finance, with public accounting experience being highly regarded.
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
  • Professional certifications such as CPA or CMA are preferred.
  • Solid understanding of system implementations and ERP design is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of cost accounting principles is preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience with Pivot Tables and advanced Excel functionalities.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively and prioritize responsibilities.
  • Strong commitment to meeting business deadlines.
  • Self-motivated with excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Capacity to foresee and plan work effectively.
  • Experience in the manufacturing sector is preferred.

Education and Training

A Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance is required. Professional certifications such as CPA or CMA are preferred. A robust understanding of system implementations and ERP design is advantageous.
