Position Summary

We are seeking a meticulous and proactive Facilities Manager to oversee our operations in San Diego, California. This role is pivotal in ensuring the efficient management of all utilities, services, critical systems, and grounds maintenance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Formulate, document, and execute procedures related to the Facilities Department, focusing on preventative maintenance, vendor management, capital project oversight, and compliance with company standards.
  • Conduct thorough assessments of property conditions, performing site visits to evaluate ongoing projects and ensure adherence to quality benchmarks.
  • Manage both short-term and long-term financial plans, ensuring optimal resource allocation.
  • Collaborate with the Operations Transitions team to facilitate the onboarding of new vendors for both newly constructed and acquired facilities.
  • Coordinate with contractors to guarantee the successful execution of construction projects, providing detailed status updates.
  • Source and engage professional services such as HVAC, plumbing, and electrical specialists as needed.
  • Oversee the quality control of contracted services, ensuring compliance with all contractual obligations.
  • Implement annual property inspections and reviews, identifying opportunities for system enhancements or replacements.
  • Establish security protocols for the facility, ensuring a safe environment for all.
  • Negotiate service agreements to secure favorable terms for the organization.
  • Address facilities-related inquiries from team members promptly and effectively.
  • Stay informed on industry trends, regulations, and best practices to recommend improvements and maintain compliance.
  • Participate in the due diligence for new property acquisitions and redevelopment projects.
  • Work closely with the Accounting department to ensure timely processing of vendor payments.
  • Lead and mentor Facilities team members, fostering a culture of growth and engagement.
  • Respond to emergency situations as required.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years in property maintenance management with a solid understanding of industry practices.
  • At least 4 years of experience in a managerial role.
  • Demonstrated hands-on maintenance expertise, particularly in mechanical systems.
  • Familiarity with Enterprise Asset Management software.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office or G-Suite.
  • Availability for flexible hours and emergency response.
  • Valid Driver's License and good driving record.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication abilities, both verbal and written.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Good vision and hearing, with the ability to distinguish colors and depth perception.
