FutureHouse is an innovative, non-profit AI-for-science laboratory dedicated to leveraging artificial intelligence to enhance research in biology and other intricate scientific fields. Our mission is to develop AI systems that can accelerate scientific discovery, enabling humanity to advance towards breakthroughs in disease treatment, climate change solutions, and other transformative technologies.

We are on the lookout for exceptionally imaginative, driven, and productive individuals to join our team as Technical Solutions Engineers. Ideal candidates will collaborate closely with our existing team of researchers and engineers, utilizing their software expertise to create new systems that facilitate FutureHouse's growth and establish new benchmarks in AI-for-science research. Candidates should be adept at coding while also possessing a systems-level mindset for deploying their innovations.

This position is located in our San Francisco, CA office.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work collaboratively with fellow technical staff to design and implement new AI systems aimed at addressing significant scientific challenges.
  • Generate innovative ideas, identify and tackle obstacles, and optimize performance across a diverse array of benchmarks.
Qualifications:
  • Solid grounding in computer science principles.
  • Proficient in programming languages such as Python, with a willingness to learn new technologies as required.
  • Experience in managing and deploying database-driven and asynchronous applications.
  • Proven ability to address complex problems and execute solutions effectively.
  • Familiarity with intricate ETL and data pipeline architectures is advantageous.
  • Experience with large language models for training or inference is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of thriving in a dynamic, multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
