Position Overview

At the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, where every interaction is significant, the Hospitality Services Support Specialist plays a vital role in ensuring safe, healthy, and inviting environments for students, staff, faculty, and visitors across various settings.

This role involves working within the Nebraska City Union, focusing on routine cleaning and general maintenance tasks. Responsibilities include maintaining cleanliness in offices, public spaces, restrooms, conference rooms, and other designated areas to provide a well-kept, safe environment for all.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Cleaning and maintaining both hard floor surfaces and carpeted areas.
  • Mixing cleaning solutions according to established guidelines.
  • Assisting with event setup and conference operations as required.

Positions may be filled at a higher level based on the qualifications of the candidate. Depending on the assigned level, responsibilities may include training and supervising others, as well as:

  • Responding to on-call situations, including cleanup of Blood Borne Pathogens and other emergency calls during shifts.
  • Utilizing all non-riding and non-autonomous cleaning equipment.
  • Ordering necessary supplies.

New hires in the Hospitality Services Attendant role will receive ongoing supervision and specific training guidelines. Those hired as Hospitality Services Assistants, Associates, or Senior Associates will regularly perform the associated skills of their respective levels.

Performance will be continuously evaluated to ensure proficiency in these essential skills.
