At the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, where every individual and every interaction is significant, the Hospitality Services team member plays a vital role in ensuring safe, healthy, and inviting environments for students, staff, faculty, and guests across various settings.
This position will be based within the Nebraska City Union and will involve carrying out routine tasks related to cleaning and general maintenance, including offices, public areas, restrooms, conference rooms, and other spaces as required, to provide a clean, safe, and well-kept environment for our students, guests, tenants, faculty, and staff.
Responsibilities include maintaining hard floor surfaces and carpeted areas, mixing cleaning solutions according to guidelines, and, depending on the location, may involve event setup and/or conference operations duties.Positions may be filled at a higher level based on the qualifications of the candidate.
Depending on the assigned level, the position may include training and supervising the work of others and:
- Responding to on-call situations, including Blood Borne Pathogens cleanup and other emergency calls during shifts
- Utilizing all non-riding and non-autonomous equipment
- Managing supply orders
When appointed as a Hospitality Services Attendant, the role will receive ongoing supervision and specific guidelines throughout the training and development process.
When appointed as a Hospitality Services Assistant, Associate, or Senior Associate, the role will regularly execute the responsibilities associated with that level.Performance will be continuously evaluated to determine the ability to perform these responsibilities at an acceptable standard.
