Job Summary

The Patient Access Representative II (PAR II) position at Cambridge Health Alliance is a dynamic role that combines administrative and clinical responsibilities. As a key member of the ambulatory team, you will provide exceptional patient care and support the smooth operation of our clinics.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administrative Duties:
    • Greet patients and families with a warm and welcoming demeanor.
    • Answer phone calls and respond to electronic messages in a professional and timely manner.
    • Schedule patient appointments using our electronic scheduling system.
    • Verify patient insurance and complete registration processes.
    • Manage patient co-payments and maintain accurate records.
    • Obtain patient consent and signatures as needed.
    • Perform administrative tasks to ensure accurate billing and reimbursement.
    • Assist with prescription refill requests and document patient information.
    • Receive and distribute mail and faxes.
    • Coordinate referrals and specialty appointments.
  • Clinical Responsibilities:
    • Manage patient flow through the clinic, preparing medical records and gathering information.
    • Participate in team huddles and meetings to ensure seamless care.
    • Room patients, assist providers with medical histories, and document patient information.
    • Perform vital signs and point-of-care testing as needed.
    • Communicate effectively with patients and families to set expectations.
    • Provide timely observations to providers regarding patient issues.
    • Manage room cleaning, stocking, and setup.
    • Assist providers with clinical procedures.
    • Participate in process improvement initiatives.
    • Attend staff meetings, MA meetings, and continuing education sessions.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Graduation from an accredited medical assistant program.
  • Current AHA Basic Life Support Certification.
  • Ability to write and verbally communicate in English.
  • Knowledge of a second language preferred.
  • Current experience as a Medical Assistant.
  • Experience with administrative duties in a clinical setting preferred.
