Position Overview

Allegheny Science & Technology (AST) is seeking an Events Planner & Manager to facilitate the organization and execution of diverse events related to Department of Defense (DoD) energy initiatives. This role involves overseeing event components and staff participation, ensuring compliance with deliverables and timelines, while collaborating with various internal and external stakeholders for effective event planning and execution.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive event planning and execution support for DoD energy initiatives.
  • Engage extensively with both internal and external program stakeholders to ensure seamless coordination.
  • Organize and manage a range of program and project events, including meetings, workshops, trade shows, annual conferences, and milestone ceremonies.
  • Monitor and coordinate with program staff regarding conference participation, speaking opportunities, speechwriting, briefing preparation, and rehearsal sessions.
  • Plan and execute industry days, project milestone events, and exhibitions, overseeing logistics, speechwriting, briefing development, and event materials for distinguished guests and stakeholders.
  • Ensure timely completion of event components and deliverables in accordance with established deadlines.

Qualifications:

  • A bachelor's degree is required.
  • A Secret Clearance is mandatory.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience within the Department of Defense is essential.
  • Proven experience in planning, coordinating, and executing program- and project-related events, including trade shows, meetings, workshops, and conferences.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with sustainable energy and environmental programs within federal organizations.
