Position Summary:
The Senior Accounting Specialist plays a crucial role in overseeing the financial operations of the hotel. This position is tasked with providing comprehensive financial analysis and reporting to management, ensuring the integrity of financial records, and maintaining compliance with all relevant regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the daily preparation of financial reports, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in all submissions.
  • Ensure that all financial transactions are recorded in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Manage daily cash flow and oversee the reconciliation of bank deposits.
  • Supervise the Accounts Receivable process, including credit assessments and billing accuracy.
  • Coordinate with various departments to resolve billing inquiries and discrepancies.
  • Administer the Accounts Payable process, ensuring compliance with internal policies.
  • Conduct regular audits to ensure adherence to operational procedures and implement corrective actions as necessary.
  • Prepare and submit all required tax filings, coordinating with external firms when applicable.
  • Lead and mentor accounting staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
  • Maintain compliance with all company standards and regulations to promote safe and efficient hotel operations.

Qualifications:

  • Educational background in accounting or a related field, with relevant experience in the hospitality industry preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Experience in Accounts Receivable and Payroll is advantageous.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, particularly during peak periods.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with a focus on customer service.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
