Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Leadership: Provide financial leadership and guidance to the hotel management team, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting and compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Cash Flow Management: Effectively manage and communicate cash flow related issues, including the accurate and timely preparation of monthly financial statements, management of receivables, payables, cash balances, and control mechanisms.
  • Financial Analysis: Analyze financial data and operations to assist and advise management in maintaining the hotel's financial objectives, including creating annual budgets and monthly variance analysis.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure hotel compliance with all regulatory licenses and permits, leases, contracts, legal agreements, and the proper execution of all operational taxes.
  • Internal Controls: Establish and continually audit all internal financial controls, including purchasing, cash handling, disbursements, inventories, hotel assets, master keys, payroll, and employee records.
  • Staff Management: Hire, train, supervise, and develop staff, including coaching, counseling, and discipline.
  • Reporting: Direct or prepare all financial reports in accordance with company requirements, meeting various due dates and deadlines.
Requirements
  • Education: At least 6 years of related progressive experience in hotel accounting or a related field, or a 4-year college degree with an accounting/finance concentration and a minimum of 2 years of related progressive experience.
  • Skills: Proficient in Windows, company-approved spreadsheets, and word processing, and in the operation of all hotel-specific systems.
  • Communication: Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate with all levels of employees and guests in an attentive, friendly, courteous, and service-oriented manner.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to multitask and prioritize departmental functions to meet deadlines, and to effectively handle problems, including anticipating, preventing, identifying, and solving problems as necessary.
  • Confidentiality: Ability to maintain confidentiality of information.
