Role Summary

The Financial Operations Manager will oversee the precise and prompt financial stewardship of the organization. This role encompasses the management of accounting functions, the generation of regular financial statements, and the upkeep of financial records.

Key Objectives

  • Deliver detailed financial insights to executive leadership by assessing, interpreting, and presenting relevant data.
  • Formulate, execute, and uphold financial regulations and protocols.
  • Meet budgeting targets through effective scheduling, analysis, and necessary adjustments.
  • Assist in crafting and supporting both short-term and long-term operational plans.

Core Responsibilities

  • Ensure internal controls for revenue collection, expenditures, and team budgets are effectively maintained.
  • Collaborate with the executive team to set financial and operational benchmarks, budgets, and reporting standards on a regular basis.
  • Implement standardized accounting policies and procedures across all departments, ensuring compliance with legal standards.
  • Establish and enforce internal controls to safeguard company assets and streamline processes.
  • Lead and mentor the accounting team, fostering a culture of trust and high performance.
  • Manage insurance coverage and oversee the renewal process, as well as administer the retirement plan with various periodic responsibilities.
  • Conduct governmental reporting on a quarterly and annual basis.

Required Skills & Knowledge

  • Proficient in analyzing and interpreting business publications, professional journals, and regulatory guidelines.
  • Capable of effectively communicating information and addressing inquiries from groups of managers and clients.
  • Adept at performing calculations involving discounts, interest, commissions, and percentages.
  • Familiarity with relevant laws and regulations.
  • In-depth knowledge of federal tax regulations and reporting requirements.
  • Understanding of payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable processes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting.
  • Professional accounting designation, such as CPA or equivalent (MBA, etc.).
  • A minimum of 10 years of accounting experience, with at least 5 years in a manufacturing context.
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks is essential.
  • Familiarity with IQMS is advantageous.
  • Demonstrated expertise in financial analysis, cost accounting, and budgeting.
  • Knowledge of ERP systems and methodologies.
  • Willingness to travel as required.
  • Strong problem-solving and strategic thinking abilities.
  • Adaptability in a dynamic and fast-paced work environment.
  • Excellent supervisory, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and basic Word applications.
