Role Responsibilities:

As a Linux Systems Architect, you will collaborate with a team of IT specialists to implement tailored environments and troubleshoot technical challenges in support of advanced collaborative capabilities. This role holds significant visibility with the client, integrating cutting-edge commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) hardware and software.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Establishing and enforcing security protocols for secure, multi-party capabilities across various domain classifications.
  • Engaging with diverse users to gather requirements for data centers, including mission analysts and data custodians from the Intelligence Community (IC), along with various Government off-the-shelf (GOTS) and COTS developers.
  • Conducting and evaluating site surveys, preparing site preparation requirements, and formulating installation plans.
  • Building, configuring, and testing each system and hardware suite prior to deployment.
  • Creating and updating documentation, including post-installation documentation packages, installation guides, configuration manuals, user guides, test plans, procedures, technical reports, and presentation materials.
  • Contributing to the ongoing phases of monitoring, sustainment, and process improvement as capabilities are integrated into our production environment.
  • Focusing on mission capabilities and Linux-based COTS applications as a Linux specialist.

Required Qualifications:

  • Experience in developing and reviewing system architecture, including relevant use cases.
  • Ability to manage and optimize technology to achieve expected availability and performance levels.
  • Experience leading significant portions of large or medium-complexity IT projects and managing small projects independently.
  • Capability to develop models for future architectural enhancements to system hardware and software.
  • Experience in developing and conducting training programs.
  • Ability to assist and advise in the development or modification of complex hardware and software solutions to enhance specialized IT infrastructure.
  • Proficiency in interfacing with various organizational levels to resolve system engineering challenges.
  • Experience providing regular updates and status reports, including issues and proposed solutions.
  • Ability to develop advanced technological and operational concepts and guide their progression to final products.
  • Experience delivering technical briefs to government and contractor personnel at all levels.
  • Capability to provide advice on team integration of new platforms concerning cost, schedule, and performance impacts.
  • Experience managing installation, maintenance, and support of complex technical infrastructures, hardware, and system software components.
  • Ability to provide specialized solutions to intricate IT challenges.
  • Experience conducting analyses and preparing summary reports.
  • Ability to gather facts through research, interviews, and surveys to analyze client business needs and prepare final reports.
  • Experience developing security procedures for design reviews and operational monitoring.
  • Ability to lead large-scale information systems engineering projects.
  • Experience resolving significant technical issues with both immediate and long-term solutions.
  • Capability to assess solutions and impacts for major changes to the baseline and stay informed of changes to mission applications and systems.
  • Experience overseeing and guiding major portions of IT system architecture.
  • Ability to recommend architectural options and business cases for significant decisions impacting IT services.
  • Experience performing system designs, developments, and product verification testing on power, control systems, software, hardware, and equipment.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, for interactions with senior organizational levels.

Qualifications:

  • Must possess a Security + certification.
  • A Bachelor's degree in System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or a related field from an accredited institution is required.
  • A Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Assurance, Information Security System Engineering, or a related field may substitute for two (2) years of experience, reducing the requirement to ten (10) years of experience.
  • Four (4) years of additional IT Engineer experience may substitute for a Bachelor's degree, making the total experience requirement sixteen (16) years as an IT Engineer without a degree.
  • A minimum of twelve (12) years as an IT Engineer in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.

This position requires an active Security Clearance with the appropriate Polygraph.
