Position Overview:
This role demands extensive experience in systems integration. The ideal candidate will possess a profound level of expertise to design and develop new functionalities for complex systems with stringent interface, performance, and security standards. Responsibilities encompass providing systems engineering proficiency across various domains, including architecture, design, development, requirements analysis, data flow, network design/implementation, testing, and documentation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Guide and support the engineering of large-scale systems and their major components within a complex network environment.
  • Offer technical guidance for future system enhancements and architectural design.
  • Update and maintain System Engineering Documentation.
  • Conduct Analysis of Alternatives (AoA) or similar evaluation methodologies.
  • Collaborate with Program Management, System and Software Integration Engineers, Test Engineers, Information Assurance Engineers, and other project team members in an Agile setting.
  • Develop and implement engineering practices ensuring rigorous application to all assigned tasks.
  • Engage with internal technical professionals and customer representatives as necessary.
  • Actively participate in program increment planning and Agile team activities.

Basic Qualifications:

  • In-depth experience in system architecture, design, development, requirements analysis, data flow design/analysis, network design/implementation, testing, and technical documentation.
  • A minimum of 7 years of experience in network design or foundational networking.
  • At least 7 years of experience in system architecture design, construction, and integration.
  • 7 years of hands-on experience with infrastructure components such as Servers, Switches, Firewalls, and other Enterprise Infrastructure hardware.
  • 5 years of experience as a Senior Architect on large, complex system architectures.
  • 5 years of hands-on experience in building and maintaining Windows and Linux systems.
  • Experience in requirements verification traceability.
  • Proficient in analyzing user requirements and system specifications.
  • Experience in hardware and software transition research and analysis.
  • Solid understanding of secure systems engineering and development.
  • Ability to manage multiple systems and components in various configurations.
  • Effective planning and prioritization skills with clear communication regarding technical options.
  • Commitment to best practices in systems engineering.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's/Master's Degree in System Engineering, Engineering Science, Computer Science, or a related field with at least 12 years of relevant experience.
  • Hands-on experience with hardware and software maintenance.
  • Experience in transitioning legacy systems to new architectures.
  • Familiarity with model-based systems engineering.
  • Experience in risk management and maintaining a risk register.
  • Experience in tracking hardware assets and software licenses.
  • Familiarity with the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) methodology or experience as part of an Agile team.
