Job Overview

Under the guidance of the Program Supervisor, Corporate Engagement Coordinators are responsible for outreach initiatives and fostering productive relationships with various businesses within designated regions. The goal is to create opportunities for potential employment and assess individuals participating in employment training programs. This role involves interacting with prospective participants to understand their career aspirations, evaluate their interests, strengths, and ambitions, and conducting a range of assessments in community settings and workplaces.

Location: Reliable transportation is required for travel within designated regions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure the health, wellness, and safety of individuals supported by providing appropriate supervision and managing crisis situations while adhering to established policies and regulations.
  • Conduct research and outreach to establish connections with potential employers, securing commitments to consider and potentially hire participants from YAI's employment training programs.
  • Maintain and nurture relationships with existing employer partners to support ongoing employment-related activities.
  • Engage in daily prospecting, including cold calls and face-to-face meetings with businesses to generate new partnerships and employment opportunities for program participants.
  • Meet with new program participants to assess their skills and interests, identifying suitable job matches and potential employment opportunities.
  • Assist individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) in setting and achieving their employment goals, addressing personal barriers, and facilitating respectful communication to clarify their ambitions and ensure person-centered plans are executed.
  • Conduct various assessments in line with program requirements, including vocational assessments, situational assessments, work try-outs, community observations, and mock interviews to evaluate job readiness and strengths.
  • Document all interactions with participants and employers, maintaining accurate records in compliance with applicable policies and procedures.
  • Act as a liaison between employers, other businesses, employment training participants, and YAI staff to secure employment and vocational assessment opportunities.
  • Complete the discovery process with unemployed participants in accordance with OPWDD requirements to inform job matching efforts.
  • Engage participants through on-site visits and assessments to evaluate their abilities and the viability of desired employment options.
  • Perform all duties of an Employment Training Specialist, including providing job coaching to individuals at their initial placements.
  • Make referrals to vocational development services or create job development plans for unemployed participants as needed.
  • Coordinate regularly with Employment Training Specialists and YAI staff to identify potential employers and ensure appropriate job matches for new participants.
  • Comply with all relevant regulatory agency requirements, including HIPAA regulations.
  • Participate in site development efforts for related programs as required.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • One year of experience in a sales, marketing, or recruiting role, focusing on networking and relationship building.
  • Completion of necessary training, including OPWDD approved vocational rehabilitation or supported employment training programs.
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to learn and adapt to electronic and data management systems.
  • Flexibility to work a varied schedule, including occasional evenings or weekends, and willingness to travel across assigned regions.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Adaptable personality with a proactive approach.
  • Successful completion of background checks and relevant clearances as required.
  • Tuberculosis testing may be mandatory for certain positions.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Two years of experience assisting individuals facing barriers to employment.
  • Experience working with individuals with I/DD.
  • Valid driver's license for assignments in areas with limited public transportation.

Compensation: $19.50/hour
