Job Overview

The Proposal Development Specialist will create and manage proposals and cost estimates under the guidance of the Director of Proposals. This role is perfect for a proactive individual who excels in independent work and can manage multiple proposals through regular engagement with clients and technical team leaders. As a Proposal Development Specialist, you will play a crucial role in SOCOTEC's achievements, serving as the initial point of contact with our clients and determining the services they require.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage in daily team meetings to assess proposal priorities and track progress.
  • Analyze assigned proposal requests, evaluate requirements, and identify suitable team leaders to provide insights on proposal scope and pricing.
  • Craft technical proposals utilizing existing templates, along with corresponding estimates for effort and costs.
  • Conduct research, gather necessary information, and participate in meetings relevant to specific proposals.
  • Review proposals and estimates with technical team leaders, making updates based on their feedback.
  • Work collaboratively with internal Marketing, Legal, and Finance teams to assemble comprehensive proposal packages.
  • Collaborate with fellow proposal writers to ensure proposal language is clear, accurate, and free of errors.
  • Reach out to clients and prospects to gather additional information required for proposal development and confirm receipt of proposals.
  • Maintain client and project data within our CRM platform.
  • Coordinate with the Proposal Manager to refine and update template language based on client requirements.
Qualifications

About You:

  • Outstanding analytical, creative problem-solving, and written communication abilities.
  • Ability to remain composed under tight deadlines while managing multiple proposals simultaneously.
  • Strong organizational skills with a keen focus on accuracy and detail.
  • A Bachelor’s degree is required, preferably in business, marketing, communications, or a related field.
  • 1 to 2 years of experience in proposal writing and estimating, ideally within an architecture, engineering, marketing, or consulting environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite (Adobe InDesign) is a plus.
  • Experience with Deltek Vision is advantageous.
