Job Title: Phlebotomy & Customer Service Specialist

Join our team as a Phlebotomy & Customer Service Specialist at Norlanco Outpatient Center in Elizabethtown, PA. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and customer service while performing phlebotomy and registration duties.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform venipuncture and capillary specimen collection in an ambulatory setting.
  • Validate patient identity, specimen integrity, and maintain working knowledge of specimen requirements and clinical protocols.
  • Document all stages of specimen collection in required computer systems.
  • Complete cleaning tasks utilizing regulatory standards.
  • Perform maintenance and/or inventory of equipment and supplies according to unit/department standards.
  • Provide complete and accurate patient registration, including walk-in, check-in, and scheduled appointments.
  • Support inbound and outbound calls to or from patients, guests, or appropriate parties as needed to provide services.
  • Verify patient, guarantor, coverage, and hospital account information.
  • Perform required referral/authorization processes and enter orders for applicable tests.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of educational requirements (additional formal education/training; maximum supervision for initial competency; yearly competency evaluation and training).
  • CPR Certification - American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support, required within 30 days of hire.
  • One (1) year of clerical, customer service, or administrative support experience in a highly customer-oriented organization.
  • One (1) year experience with basic keyboarding, personal computer use, and other office setting equipment.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Previous phlebotomy or registration experience. Training will be provided upon hire.
  • One (1) year of Epic (or equivalent Electronic Medical Record) experience.
